ABOUT

After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, I moved to New York to pursue a B.F.A. in dance and a minor in journalism at New York University. I graduated in May of 2021 and have been on a journey to develop my artistry. I am a creator and performer of mostly movement-based art who is also equipped with multimedia and digital art skills due to my journalism studies.
I intend to use my art to shed light on human relations/interactions. Dance-wise, I am mostly interested in post-modern and contemporary work. Currently, I dance for five two Dance Company and freelance dance in different projects around NYC. I have had the opportunity to work with incredible choreographers such as Shamel Pitts, UNA Productions, Grace Yi-Li Tong, Patricia Hoffbauer, John Heginbotham, and many more.
As a POC who grew up in a predominately white environment, the value of individual voices is very important to me. This is why I enjoy collaborating with others and why I like to write profiles, culture, and human interest stories. I've had the amazing opportunity to serve as a Deputy Editor and Podcast Host for the Collegiate Association for Artists of Color and as the Digital Media Intern for Wandering Avian Dance Experience. These are two activism organizations that taught me so much about journalism, social media, website marketing, and more.
Through movement, digital art, and journalism, I strive to pause division in the world and bring unity and empathy to an audience.
